Book-matched flooring is made the same way luthiers match tone-wood on a guitar: slice a plank in two, open it like a book, and lay the mirrored halves side by side. The result is a floor with long symmetrical grain lines that feels less like individual boards and more like one quiet, flowing surface.

Our 8" book-matched boards are cut from wide reclaimed teak beams — the kind we have to go to Java to find. Every box is sequenced by hand so adjacent planks continue the mirror across the room.
